Two killed in Qld motorbike crashes

Two people have died in separate motorbike crashes in Queensland.

A female motorcyclist was killed and her male pillion rider injured in a crash on the Old Bruce Highway, northwest of the Sunshine Coast.

Police believe the 30-year-old woman lost control of her motorbike and struck an embankment near Mary Valley Link Road at Coles Creek about 5.45pm on Tuesday.

She suffered critical injuries and died at the scene while the 38-year-old man was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition with chest and arm injuries.

A male rider also died after crashing into a tree after he lost control of his motorbike on a bend near Coen in far north Queensland.

The 49-year-old New Zealander died at the scene at about 11.30am on Tuesday.
