Two historical WA virus cases detected

Western Australia has recorded another day without any new coronavirus cases but two historical infections have been detected.

The state's tally has climbed to 601 after serological testing confirmed historical cases relating to an overseas traveller and a cruise ship passenger.

There are now 28 active cases in WA including seven locals, one from interstate and 20 crew from the Al Kuwait livestock carrier.

About 10,000 eligible asymptomatic people have been tested under the state government's DETECT Snapshot program which concludes on Wednesday.

No positive cases have been recorded among the cohort which includes health, education, transport and other frontline workers.
