Two French volunteers killed in Russian strike on Kherson Oblast


A Russian drone strike on Beryslav, Kherson Oblast, has killed two French citizens and injured three other foreign nationals, Kherson regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said in a Telegram post on Feb. 1.

According to Prokudin, two French volunteers died in the attack. Three other foreign citizens suffered minor injuries. A Ukrainian activist from an unspecified NGO was also among the wounded, the governor added.

Prokudin expressed his condolences to the victims’ families.

On Jan. 30, a previous Russian drone strike on Beryslav left one 35-year-old local dead.
