Two to face Sydney court over drugs, guns

Two men are due in court in Sydney's south following the seizure of $2.75 million in cash, 13 firearms and illicit drugs.

Officers with Strike Force Raptor and the Drug and Firearms Squad searched a storage facility at inner city Waterloo early on Wednesday, where drugs and firearms, including five sub-machine guns and two semi-automatic pistols, and cash was allegedly discovered.

A 34-year-old man was later arrested at Sydney Airport as he arrived from New Zealand he was and refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Friday, charged with drugs, firearms and other offences.

Three men were arrested during a vehicle stop at Alexandria, about 3.45pm and two were released pending further inquiries, but a 32-year-old man was later charged with various drug, firearm and other offences and refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Friday.

Police executed a search warrant at a home unit at Homebush, where they seized items relevant to the investigation, which is ongoing.
