Two people are dead and another is in a critical condition undergoing surgery after a horror stabbing incident in an inner Auckland suburb.
Police were called to an Epsom property at 11.30am on Friday, finding three people in a critical condition.
News outlet Newshub is reporting a man in his 20s has allegedly killed his mother and father, and is the man undergoing surgery.
A fourth person who was present during the incident has suffered minor injuries and is also at hospital.
Detective Inspector Scott Beard did not address whether anyone had been arrested, but said police were not looking for any further people in relation to the incident.
Mr Beard wouldn't be drawn on whether it was a family harm incident, saying
it would appear they were "known to each other".
"The person who has had the superficial injuries was able to speak to us," he said.
"Until we get everyone interviewed, we don't have the full story."
First aid was provided to all three people, but two died at the Epsom address.
Mr Beard said police would be looking to provide reassurance to rattled neighbours.
