The President-elect has weirdly vowed to cancel women’s boxing in an off-the-cuff rant at a Turning Point USA event.

Donald Trump, about to take the presidential seat for the second time, proclaimed that the “Gold Age of America” is here in his speech on Sunday, before the conversation took a turn.

“There’s a spirit that we have now that we didn’t have just a short while ago. Sadly, we didn’t have,” Trump said. “Who the hell can have spirit watching women get beat up in a boxing ring? I don’t think that’s spirit, right? We’re going to end that one quick!”

After repeating that he was going to end the sport two more times, the crowd was mostly silent.

Despite Trump vowing to “keep men out of women’s sports,” the president-elect did not specifically mention transgender athletes.

He then began to talk about the stock market after vowing to end the sport at the young conservative event this weekend.

This year, Trump falsely labeled two gold medalist female boxers, Imane Khelif of Algeria and Li Yu-ting of Taiwan, as transgender. They were both born and raised as women.

“They were men. They transitioned to women, and they were in the boxing,” Trump said.

Trump’s pal, UFC President Dana White, once said that women would never fight in the octagon. But he’s since changed his mind.

“Everything in life is about timing,” White said. “When I was saying we’ll never have women in the UFC, I was having a hard enough time getting men fighting in a cage accepted let alone women.”
