Truck driver’s terrifying antics caught on dash cam

Police are tracking down a truckie caught on camera tearing through the Adelaide Hills in an act of absolute madness.

The driver can be seen dicing with death in the exclusive dash cam video, which is unnerving to watch.

The footage shows the terrifying moments the truckie veers onto the wrong side of the road on a sharp bend.

The reckless driving happened Tuesday afternoon on a narrow and winding stretch of Gorge Road.

A truckie starts to edge over the double white lines, then as he rounds one sharp bend, and another, he veers completely onto the wrong side of the road.

The consequences could have been fatal.

Local motorists have called the truckie’s actions “irresponsible”.

“They fly down there, that’s how you get accidents,” one Adelaide driver told 7 News.

“I know they’ve got a job to do, they’ve always got timetables, but you know things happen very easily,” he said.

Another local added: “When you’re in the car and a truck’s coming towards you they can be quite overpowering.”

Residents say Gorge Road can be difficult to navigate at the best of times, and some now avoid it altogether because of incidents like this.

“It’s happened to me up on Gorge Road also, only about a year ago, which almost forced me off the road,” a third man said.

Another driver told how he refused to use the road, describing it as “fairly wind-y and dangerous”.

The video is also in the hands of police, who are investigating.
