A truck driver has been criticised after losing a heavy load while going around a roundabout in Sydney’s south.

Police said the truck was driving at the intersection of Captain Cook Drive and Gannons Road in Caringbah when it jackknifed, rolled and lost its load of Gyprock at about 9.30am on Friday.

Two eastbound lanes were closed while the truck was salvaged and the clean-up completed, holding up heavy traffic.

People have slammed the truck driver on Facebook, saying he was likely driving too fast.

“Too quick on the roundabout ... always worry when next to one ... they go way too fast – dangerous,” one said.

Another person commented saying said the spot was dangerous and the accident could have been fatal.

Police said nobody was injured in the crash but they were investigating the circumstances.
