Tributes flow for Sydney mum after body found four minutes from home

A community in Sydney's northwest is mourning the death of a local mother and businesswoman whose body was found just moments from her home.

On Saturday evening, the body of Shereen Kumar, 43, was found in bushland near Laurie Road in Dural, just a four-minute drive from her house.

She was reported missing on Thursday morning and police had been out in the bushland searching for her with dogs and helicopters.

About six hours after Ms Kumar's body was found, her partner, Vincent Carlino, 37, was arrested at a home on Taylor's Road in Dural.

Carlino has been charged with her murder and was refused bail when appearing in Parramatta Court via video link on Sunday. Taylor's Road and Laurie Road are just minutes apart from one another.
