Tributes as police launch Christmas murder probe
A man who died on Christmas Day in what police are treating as a suspected murder has been named.
Louis Price, 31, was found suffering a cardiac arrest on Elm Road, Norton Canes, at about 03:30 GMT on Wednesday.
A 33-year-old woman, from Cannock, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, Staffordshire Police said.
A referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) following recent police contact, the force added.
Mr Price's family described him as a "well-known member of the community who always had a smile on his face".
He left behind six children, including four daughters and two sons, who relatives said "loved him dearly".
"He always had time for anyone and would help anyone he could," they said in a statement.
"As a family we are devastated at losing Louis. Life will never be the same without him, he leaves a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him.
"Christmas is a time we have always spent together as a family, to lose Louis at this time is even harder."
They added that Louis had been a devoted fisherman and life-long supporter of Aston Villa.
Relatives have asked people not to speculate about what had happened.
Police said a magistrate had granted detectives extra time to interview the suspect.
An online portal has been set up to allow people to share information or footage from CCTV, doorbell cams or dashcams.
