Tributes flow for 'honest and genuine' dad killed in tragic warehouse incident
Dad-of-two Rob Lo Presti has been identified as the victim of Saturday's warehouse fire in Perth.
A man tragically killed in a warehouse fire on the weekend has been identified by media as father-of-two Rob Lo Presti. The Perth man, a marine mechanic, was at the boat repair business in O'Connor, a suburb of Fremantle, when flames suddenly took hold of the facility on Saturday.
The fire started around 3.30 pm and quickly spread, sending toxic smoke into nearby areas. Nearby residents were told to stay inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed.
Emergency services attended the scene and upon extinguishing the fire, a person was located deceased inside the building, WA Police said on Saturday. "The fire is being treated as a non-suspicious fatal incident," they said in a statement the following day.
Dad remembered as 'genuine and vivacious human'
Lo Presti is being remembered by family and friends as the the "most honest, genuine and vivacious human". He leaves behind his wife Rebecca and their two children.
"Rebecca, together with our devastated family, wants Rob to be honoured as the most honest, genuine and vivacious human being whose love of life was noticeable by everyone who knew him and his infectious smile like no other," his family said in a statement to media.
"He has left behind two amazing children who will live on in the memory of their loving father."

Speaking of the incident, state premier Roger Cook reportedly said the fire appeared to be "a tragic, horrible event".
"I don't have any other details, but obviously that must have been very distressing for those first responders," Cook said on Sunday. "We thank them for their work, and of course, we've had a loss of life too."
He said emergency services were yet to determine the "really sad" circumstances surrounding the fire as investigations continue.
