Treswell: Man arrested after cyclist dies in crash with van

A cyclist in his 50s has died in a collision with a van in Nottinghamshire.

The fatal crash took place at the Cottam Road junction with Rampton Road near Treswell, at 09:20 GMT on Sunday.

The cyclist, a 57-year-old man from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, suffered a serious injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police investigating the crash have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He is currently in custody, assisting detectives with their investigation, the force said.

A police spokesperson has said the family of the cyclist are being supported by specialist officers.
