A contestant on a game show has become a viral sensation on social media after his dark introduction on America’s Wheel Of Fortune left the audience and host in shock.
Host, Pat Sajak, was introducing contestants on Monday night when the light-hearted game show suddenly became awkward when it was Blair Davis’s turn to speak.
“I’ve been trapped in a loveless marriage for the last 12 years to an old battle-axe named Kim,” Mr Davis, a trucker from California said.
There was nervous laughter from the crowd as Mr Davis continued talking about his family with a deadpan expression.
“She cursed my life with three stepchildren - Star, RJ, and Ryan, and I have one rotten grandson,” he added.
The audience seemed taken aback by the blunt answer so the TV host tried to lighten up the conversation with his own joke.
“Yay! No wonder you came here, you just wanted to get away from everybody,” Mr Sajak joked as he fist pumped the air.
Thankfully Mr Sajak clarified that Mr Davis was just “being facetious” and the audience and other contestants erupted with laughter.
Wheel of Fortune embraced the stony-faced amateur comedian and posted Mr Davis’s hilarious introduction on the offical social media accounts for the show.
“We appreciate a stark sense of humour, last night's contestant Blair had us all laughing,” the post read.
While Mr Davis didn’t win big on the wheel, fans of the show have called for a return of the bearded truck driver and insisted he has revived the classic game show.
“Bring Blair back! I would watch every night if he was on,” one person wrote.
“About to start watching again,” another added.
One person said they appreciated the dry sense of humour.
“Blair is the darkest Wheel Of Fortune contestant ever,” a person joked.
“ALL TIME Wheel of Fortune intro just happened. “I’ve been trapped in a loveless marriage...” another said.
Some people said that even if there was some truth to the joke, they could relate to Mr Davis.
“Everybody always gets super cheesy about their spouses so this was refreshing,” a person said.
“Some one who's normal for a change!” another person added.
