Manchester United remain in talks to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon and latest reports from Portgual this morning claim the Premier League side have finally increased their offer, submitting an improved bid of €55m plus bonuses.

Standard Sport understands Arsenal are working on loan deal for Pablo Mari with a view to a permanent move. The Spanish defender arrived in London today with Gunners sporting director Edu on Saturday.

The Daily Express meanwhile claim Tottenham have opened talks to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid before next week's transfer deadline.

When does the January transfer window close?

Transfer deadline day is on Friday, January 31, 2020.

The window will close at 11pm GMT, with Premier League sides needing to submit deal sheets before that time to be able to complete all of the necessary documentation on a deal after the deadline has passed.
