Tragic photo taken hours before young mum's holiday death

The devastating last photo of a young mum who died while taking a nap on a family holiday has emerged.

Amy Connor, 23, was holidaying with her sister Toni and cousin Alison on the Spanish island of Ibiza when she was found dead in bed by her sibling after they spent the day sunbathing on August 20.

On the day of the tragedy, her sister posted a photo on Facebook of the pair on holidays, not realising at the time it would be one of their last.

The photo shows the sisters posing and smiling on a couch close to a pool area in the evening, with the caption “I love you”.

She wrote on Facebook Amy had sadly passed away while taking a nap in their hotel room at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel.

Ms Connor said she had been relaxing on the balcony in their hotel room in the moments before discovering her sister was dead.

“We had been down to the pool and then came back up to the room for a while, so Amy got into the shower and then got into bed. I went and sat out on the balcony and ate some crisps and chilled and when I came back in, she was still in the bed ... it was so surreal, it didn’t make sense. It was just such a shock,” she told Belfast Live.

The 26-year-old added her sister was one of a kind.

“Amy is the kind of person if you met her once you’d definitely remember her, she was very out there, she’s so friendly and outgoing and she knows everyone, so we have been overwhelmed by the amount of people getting in touch since the news,” she said.

In a post on Facebook, Ms Connor said she “did not understand how life just goes on”.

She added she was thankful for the memories they had documented over the years while flooding her Facebook page with pictures and videos of her sister smiling and singing.

“I’m forever grateful that she was the biggest poser, I will treasure every picture and video I have of Amy, make sure you capture every moment,” Ms Connor wrote on Facebook.

The circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated but it is not believed to be suspicious.
