Tragic end to search for girl, 2, on Queensland property

The body of a two-year-old girl missing on a rural Queensland property has been discovered in a dam.

Ruby Gulliver was reported missing on the property in Tara, Western Downs, about 3.30pm on Monday.

Police scoured the 1500-hectare property, an extensive search involving Queensland Police Service Dog Squad, Polair, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, State Emergency Services and local members of the public.

The search came to a tragic end when the toddler was found in the dam about 1am on Tuesday morning.

After the toddler went missing, Ruby's mother Sky made a desperate plea to the public to keep an eye out for her daughter.

"I just want my little girl home where she is safe," she said, according to the Courier-Mail.

"It's killing me to know she is out there away from her parents that love her so much."

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the two-year-old's death and a report would be prepared for the coroner.
