Tragic details emerge after woman, 21, 'shot in the head by ex-boyfriend'

Heartbreaking details have emerged after a young woman was fatally shot in the head, with her ex-partner and alleged murderer claiming her death was "an accident".

Aysenur Colakoglu, 21, was shot dead just hours after taking her final hairdressing exam as she chased her dreams of opening her own salon.

Her former boyfriend, Hasan Fakioglu, also 21, is accused of shooting Ms Colakoglu at his apartment in Tepebasi, Turkey, following a row, local media reports.

Neighbours heard the gunshot before calling emergency services. Ms Colakoglu was rushed to hospital but could not be saved.

Fakioglu allegedly told reporters he believed Ms Colakoglu was cheating on him, however her father Mesut says the pair broke up four months ago and Fakioglu has been pestering his daughter ever since, including at her workplace.

"I've only just learned [of the alleged harassment]. She probably didn't tell me because she was afraid or because it would hurt us," her father told Turkish outlet Hurriyet.

"He'd been doing it all the time. She was in the prime of her life, she had dreams."

The father also shared CCTV appearing to show Fakioglu attempting to speak with his daughter when visiting their home on the day of her death.

"I thought she was cheating on me. She died by accident," Fakioglu, also a hairdresser, said while being transferred by police.

Fakioglu remains in custody as the investigation continues, while a friend who was present at the address at the time of the shooting has been released under strict conditions.
