Tradies slammed over 'disrespectful' toilet habit

A furious woman has taken aim at tradies working at her home over a “disrespectful” toilet habit.

The woman, known only as Nadia, posted a lengthy note in her bathroom imploring tradies to stop defecating in her toilet.

“Dear tradesmen, the toilets in this house are NOT rightfully yours to use,” the note seen by Nine News says.

“We are paying for an outdoor toilet for YOUR use.

“Not only did you take the virginity of our toilets but you disrespectfully ignored the seal sign, ripped the tape and continued to use it.

“This is the second time I am cleaning your s*** from this toilet.”

The woman states it is a criminal act before asking them not to do it again.

According to WorkSafe Victoria, employers are required to provide adequate facilities on construction sites and employees “should have access to clean, hygienic and conveniently located toilets at all times”.

Debate over Sydney woman’s furious note

It’s not the first time the toilet habit has sparked debate.

Last year, a Sydney woman hit out at a bunch of tradies who started to use her outside toilet without permission.

Paige Hart, from Marrickville in Sydney’s inner west, was asked by a tradie whether he could use her bathroom.

After giving him permission to use it at that time, she claimed a stream of workers then began using her outside toilet.

When she became fed up with the unwanted visitors, she left a furious note on the bathroom door, asking workers to respect her property.

“If you’re going to use our private resident bathroom without asking, at least put the f*****g toilet seat down and flush,” she said.

After she posted about her experience in a local Facebook page, some suggested she should call the police for trespassing.

However some said that action was too harsh and urged her to speak to them face to face.

Tradie responds to controversial toilet act

Tradies using the toilet has long been a contentious issue, with a man from WA posting about his experience on home building forum Homeone in 2012.

He said he was showing his in-laws around the new home when they discovered a “nice present” deposited in the upstairs toilet.

He asked whether his expectation new toilets would not be used was reasonable.

An electrician replied to the thread, saying tradies should use portable toilets if provided.

“If a [site supervisor] found us using a toilet on site that wasn’t the nominated toilet they’d be fairly upset,” the tradie said.

“I have even seen them tape up sinks and place notices on them saying the sinks are not to be used.

“I don’t think it’s right for trades to use your new toilet, having said that, if the builder hasn’t/won’t supply an alternative, then the trades have to do something.”
