An influencer on holiday inadvertently filmed her miracle survival when the taxi she was in slammed into a lorry stopped across the road. Tourist Emily Burghelea was heading to the airport for her flight home when the horror incident unfolded.

In the shocking footage, Burghelea can be heard shrieking a split-second before impact on Tuesday, July 2. “I was in a taxi, just five minutes away from the airport in Mauritius. On the final curve, on an unlit road, blinded by everyone else’s high beams from the opposite direction,” the influencer shared on social media.

“We crashed head-on at 80 kmph into a lorry that suddenly appeared parked in the middle of the street.”

Emily, 25, and her godmother were in the car and the impact force caused them to hit the windscreen. “My godmother was delirious, not responding to anything I asked her,” she recalled after coming to her senses.

Emily eventually found the strength to get herself and her godmother out of the wrecked car. The police helped them get to the airport in time for them to catch their flight to her home country of Romania along with their other relatives.

The injured pair checked into a hospital as soon as they landed. However, the worst injuries were to her legs and she will reportedly need surgery.

“It’s a miracle that I survived,” she said. “Before the impact, I had a premonition and imagined a white angel spreading its wings in front of our car. I believe that was God Himself who protected and guided us.”
