Why this lawyer is giving away 82 designer suits

A top lawyer is giving away 82 designer suits, to give back to the community and help young people who are starting out in their careers.

Daniel Hua has amassed a huge collection of designer suits for his court appearances as a partner at Brisbane law firm Cridland & Hua.

However, he is giving back to the community by clearing out his closet to people in need.

“Some of you will know that I’ve got an extensive (read excessive) suit collection,” Mr Hua posted on Facebook on October 29.

“I’ve got more than I’ll ever need in this lifetime so I’m going to give 82 of them away.

“Apart from a few of them they’re all Hugo Boss Black Label, varying in condition from good to new/never worn, in various colours and patterns.”

Mr Hua will give the suits to young people who do not own a suit and need one to advance their career or studies.

He hopes to give back to the community, in recognition of his refugee parents’ journey to Australia.

“The more I thought about it, the more I thought it was a great opportunity to give back,” Mr Hua told ABC Radio Brisbane.

The suits are all size 40R and fit Mr Hua’s 183 cm and 85 kg frame.

Ms Hau is still taking applications for the suits on his Facebook page until November 5, when Mr Hua will sift through and select the 82 lucky recipients.
