Toni Collette reveals her husband is lucky to be alive after ‘devastating’ accident

Australian actress Toni Collette has praised the emergency team responsible for promptly coming to the rescue of her husband after he was involved in a “devastating motorbike accident”.

Sharing a photo of the crash site surrounded by emergency vehicles to Instagram on Christmas day, Collette penned a heartfelt tribute to the hardworking people who saved her musician husband Dave Galafassi’s life.

“Recently my husband had a devastating motorbike accident. He’s now recovering slowly but well. We’re so lucky to still have him. It may not have been the case without the work of the incredible folks at NSW Ambulance and Toll Ambulance Rescue,” her post read.

“Thank you so very much for your swiftness, clarity, knowledge, compassion and dedication. You saved him and we cannot thank you enough. Yes, it is a very Merry Christmas. Thank you.”

Hundreds of fans took to social media to wish her husband of 16 years a quick and full recovery.

“Hope he makes a full recovery very soon. Best wishes Toni,” one wrote.

“I am so sorry but glad is recovering. Merry Christmas all the best wishes,” another said.

“How terrifying. Lots of love you guys. So happy to hear he is on the mend,” a third added.

Collette recently moved back to Sydney from the United States with her husband and their daughter Sage, 11, and son Arlo, 8.
