Toddlers critical after being pulled from Sydney backyard pool

Two toddlers are in a critical condition after being pulled from a pool in Sydney’s southwest.

An 18-month-old girl and a 23-month-old boy were found unresponsive in a backyard swimming pool at Lakewood Crescent, Casula, on Saturday about 2.45pm (local time), NSW Police said.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated them at the scene before they were taken to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command have established a crime scene.
