Toddler led away from mum at Sydney cafe

A woman who allegedly led a toddler away from his mother at a southwest Sydney cafe has been charged.

Police say the two-year-old and his mother were at a shopping centre at Bankstown just before 1pm on Wednesday when the incident happened.

Another woman allegedly took the boy's hand and led him away before his mother realised.

She chased them and grabbed her son, while the other woman ran off.

Officers arrested a 34-year-old woman at the shopping centre on Thursday and charged her with common assault and trespass.

She was refused bail and will appear in Bankstown Local Court on Friday.
