Toddler drowns after going missing from pier
A two-year-old girl has died after disappearing from a pier in Victoria.
Emergency services arrived at The Esplanade in Portarlington, southwest of Melbourne, about 1pm on Thursday, police told Yahoo News Australia.
Officers searched the area and found the toddler unconscious in the water.
Police conducted CPR on the little girl until ambulance crews arrived and took over.
“Unfortunately she died at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
Police will now prepare a report for the coroner.
