Today's Birthday, November 13: Jimmy Kimmel, American actor (1967 - )
Late night TV show host Jimmy Kimmel has again crushed the dreams of American kids with his annual Halloween prank.
In it's ninth year, the prank sees parents telling their unsuspecting kids that they have eaten all their candy.
It never goes down well with the chagrined children and this year was no different, with most of the kids breaking down into tears.
One rightly directed her anger at her father who broke the news, saying it was the worst Halloween she had ever had.
"Because of you, dumb stupid man!" she said in the video.
Another of the parents told her two kids Jimmy Kimmel made her do it.
"Don't get mad at mum, it's just Jimmy Pickle [sic], that's his fault," replied one of the kids.
Jimmy Christian Kimmel was born in Brooklyn, New York, but moved to Las Vegas when he was just nine years old.
Kimmel got his start in radio with a half-hour Sunday night talk show on University of Nevada radio station KUNV.
At the beginning of his radio career Kimmel did it tough, after being repeatedly fired from different shows.
"At the time it was me and my wife and eventually a kid or two having to go pack our house with no money and drive to another city where hopefully I would be able to get another job," Kimmel said of the period.
One of the reasons the now-superstar comic said he was disliked by his bosses was because he thought he was better than them.
"I was a skinny punk telling these grown men, 'You're not funny, I know better - just trust me'. I can see why they didn't like me," Kimmel told the Observer magazine in 2002.
He eventually landed his first big gig at LA radio station KROQ as a sports obsessed wise guy called Jimmy the Sports Guy.
Then Kimmel made the leap to TV on Comedy Central's quiz show Win Ben Stein's Money and then The Man Show.
Kimmel was tapped on the shoulder to host late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003 and hasn't stopped since.
