Tim Scott Goes Full Conspiracy Theory After Trump Blames Dem Rhetoric For Danger

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) not only accused Democrats of “potentially deadly” rhetoric that incited attempts to kill former President Donald Trump, but he suggested there’s a plot behind it. (Watch the video below.)

Scott veered into conspiracy theory on Fox News Monday in remarks that certainly won’t cool the temperature of the presidential race as it careens into the final weeks.

Both Trump and running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) blamed Democrats’ inflammatory language after the Republican nominee was allegedly targeted again by a gunman at his golf course. In July, Trump was grazed in the ear by a bullet at a rally.

“We need to see it toned down, starting on the left,” Scott said on “Hannity.” “I’ve already heard it from our side. Every one of us wants to focus on the issues. But every single time we see another attempt against President Trump. You gotta ask yourself, is there a plot? Two assassination attempts in six weeks?”

“If I were him, his family, or those who support him, you’ve got to start thinking, what’s going wrong in this process? We need answers. We need them now,” Scott added.

Both Vance and the former president, who said Democrats calling him a “threat to democracy” is “what is causing me to be shot at,” have been cited for the hypocrisy of their pleas to deescalate incendiary discourse.
