TikTok star Rochelle Hager dies in freak accident aged 31
A TikTok star has died after a tree branch fell on her car.
Rochelle Hager, 31, was driving and talking to her fiancee Brittanie Lynn Ritchie, 28, in Farmington, in the US state of Maine, on Monday (local time) when powerful winds blew a tree limb onto her car and killed her.
“It happened really quick,” Ms Ritchie told the Morning Sentinel.
“She has a phone mounted in her vent. I just heard a crash and then there was nothing.”
Ms Ritchie said the couple were due to be married on October 16.
Ms Hager was the sole occupant, and no other vehicles were involved, Farmington Police Chief Kenneth Charles said, describing the situation as “tragic and unique”.
Winds in the area topped 80km/h.
Ms Hager was best known for her TikTok account under the handle Roeurboat3, which has more than 150,000 followers. Ms Ritchie also has more than 310,000 followers on TikTok.
“We had a following on TikTok, and she was all about positivity and making people laugh,” Ms Ritchie told the Morning Sentinel.
Ms Ritchie posted a tribute to her on TikTok with a video of the couple kissing.
“I’ll stand up with you forever,” she captioned the video.
