Reports Tiger King's Joe Exotic is being hospitalised after contracting coronavirus in prison

Netflix's Tiger King star Joe Exotic, 57, has reportedly contracted coronavirus while serving a 22-year sentence in a federal prison in Texas.

Joe was convicted of two counts of murder-for-hire and 17 other wildlife violations, many of those crimes were documented in Tiger King.

Joe's fourth husband Dillon Passage, 24, did an interview with Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM radio show, Andy Cohen Live, revealing that he and Joe speak every day, but have been unable to lately because Joe is in coronavirus isolation.

"We speak three to five times every day. But since he's been moved to this new facility, they are putting him on a COVID-19 isolation because of the previous jail he was at — there were cases.

“So I have yet to speak to him since he's been moved," he said.

However, The Mirror, via Texashomepage.com, is reporting that the prison has now revealed that Joe has, in fact, contracted the virus.

The reports, which have yet to be confirmed elsewhere, suggest Joe has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been transferred to a hospital.

Joe was moved last month from Grady County Jail in Oklahoma to Federal Medical Center, a 1,500-inmate facility in Fort Worth, Texas with Entertainment Tonight reporting that after the move he was quarantined as a safety measure upon his arrival to the new facility.

ET confirmed that while in quarantine Joe hasn't been able to make any telephone calls or check emails.

Interestingly, the docuseries has become very popular with those who are self-isolating in the hopes to flatten the curve of coronavirus cases.
