Three more arrested after boy hurt in hit-and-run

Three more people have been arrested after a child was seriously injured in a hit-and-run.

The six-year-old boy was hit by a motorbike on Central Drive in Shotton, Flintshire, at about 17:30 BST on Wednesday.

He was airlifted to Liverpool's Alder Hey Hospital.

Seven people have now been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail.

A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision, and failing to report a road traffic collision.

A 24-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender.

Five others - two boys aged 14 and 17, two women aged 18 and 41, and a 38-year-old man, have all been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Supt Jon Bowcott, of North Wales Police, urged people not to speculate or make any comments on social media that may prejudice any future potential legal proceedings.
