Three men have been arrested after a robbery at a mobile phone shop in Cirencester.

Police said officers were called to the Vodafone store on Castle Street at about 09:30 BST on Saturday after a report two men threatened staff members and pushed display stands over.

Gloucestershire Police said one man pushed a staff member while another man stole two iPhones. They subsequently fled to a parked car driven by a third man.

Officers arrested an 18-year-old from Bristol and two men from Birmingham aged 19 and 31. All three were released on bail.

Car searched

Officers said they located the car within 45 minutes and used a stinger - a strip of spikes designed to puncture tyres - to stop it as it left the M5 at junction nine.

A number of suspected stolen items, including two iPhones, were found in the car, police said.

The force appealed for anyone with information to contact police.
