Three people have died in a light plane crash in bushland near Fernvale, west of Brisbane, with reports the aircraft encountered bad weather.
Police say the Cessna was reported missing after failing to return from a flight on Monday and a search was launched.
Preliminary information indicated the aircraft departed Dalby at 10am and was due to land at Archerfield at 2pm.
"The aircraft was located during an aerial search and all three occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene," police said in a statement on Monday evening.
The plane ran into bad weather before crashing, Nine News reported.
The police forensic crash unit will investigate the crash as will the Australian Transport Safety Bureau whose safety inspectors are expected on site on Tuesday.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
