Estranged father Thomas Markle will not be slowing down on his use of the press to contact his daughter, revealing to Good Morning Britain a specific, and slightly odd, strategy he hopes will finally reconnect him with his daughter.

The 75-year-old is embroiled in a very public dispute with his daughter who he says has not contacted him since her wedding.

Now he says he will give an interview every 30 days until he gets a response from the Sussexes.

“It (giving interviews) really is the only way,” he told GMB hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid, revealing his long term plan to win his daughter back.

“For me, there is no other way to reach them... I pretty much will give an interview and wait for 30 days for some kind of answer back. If I don’t get one back then I’ll try another interview,” he revealed.

It was the often outspoken dad’s first public appearance since news broke of what has become known as ‘Megxit’ – Harry and Meghan’s shocking announcement they will step back as senior members of the royal family.

He revealed he found their decision ‘embarrassing’ though the feeling is likely mutual, given he and daughter Samantha persist in airing personal details and grievances against the Duchess in the global press.

The Californian appeared via video link and aired his thoughts on the controversy, most notably revealing what he would like to say to Prince Harry, who he has never met, if given the chance.

“Man up and fly down and see me,” he said.

Thomas also revealed he is estranged from Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland as a result of the fallout from his public commentary on his daughter’s life.

Thomas previously admitted to staging paparazzi photos ahead of the royal wedding and reportedly pocketed just shy of $15,000 for previous appearances on the morning program.

Harry and Meghan take a stand

Prince Harry and Meghan have taken an active role in reclaiming their privacy of late, most notably with their step down from royal life and their pursuit of legal action against press.

The duo threatened to sue over paparazzi photos taken of Meghan and Archie in a park in Canada last week.

Prince Harry officially touched down in North America last week after his final royal engagement in the UK.

Harry and Meghan announced late last year they were taking legal action against the Mail on Sunday over the publication of a private letter that Meghan's lawyers said was "unlawful".
