A third person has been charged with murdering Victorian mum Kobie Parfitt.

Ms Parfitt, 43, was last seen alive at Ballarat in April last year.

Human remains were found in a mine shaft at nearby Snake Valley in December, as part of the investigation into her disappearance.

A 35-year-old man already in custody is the third person to be charged with Ms Partiff's murder.

He's due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court at a later date.

Shannon Jeffrey was charged in January with Ms Parfitt's murder, also while already in custody.

Brendon Prestage was charged the month prior with her murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
