Bus crash kills 30 in Bangladesh

At least 30 people have been killed after two buses collided head on in north-western Bangladesh.

Twenty people died at the scene of Monday's collision, which took place on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in north-western Natore district, 140 kilometres away from the capital Dhaka.

The remaining 10 victims died at a nearby hospital, police official Munshi Shahabuddin said, adding that 25 people injured in the accident were being treated there.

The cause of the incident was not immediately clear and the government launched an investigation.

Sahabuddin said many of the deceased were students who were on their way to Rajshahi to take part in a university admission test.
