Two people are dead after stored fireworks exploded during a wedding reception in Britain.
Firefighters recovered the bodies of a man and a woman after tackling a fierce blaze at a lakeside home near Windermere in Cumbria.
The Daily Mail reports that insurance firm boss John Simpson, 61, married Nicole Rothwell, 44, and were holding the reception at their home.
There where reportedly about 70 guests in the marquee as the bride and groom had photographs taken just before the explosion happened.
A musician at the reception told how they "grabbed our instruments and ran" as the stored fireworks exploded and a fire erupted in a shed.
"The firework display was spectacular, but we were wondering why it was being held in the bright daylight," the musician said.
Neighbour Enid Battersby told the Daily Mail: "All of a sudden there was an enormous explosion. I have never heard anything like it since the blitz in Manchester."
Tourist Anthony Middleton at a nearby visitor centre said he and his family saw fireworks shooting into the sky.
"Explosions were going off all the time, we could see the fireworks coming out from behind the trees. It appeared to us the fireworks had been stored in this wooden building that was on fire.
"We realised something disastrous was taking place. I could almost feel the heat of the fire."
Cumbria Police are investigating the cause of the explosion.
It is thought those killed were firework technicians booked to stage an evening display.
