Teacher faces student rape charges
The unnamed victim was a student of Jennifer Sexton's at Hollis Middle School in Oklahoma

A teacher has been accused of statutory rape after she allegedly had sex with one of her students.

Jennifer Sexton, 28, was already under investigation in Oklahoma, US, after she resigned from the middle school in April.

Then in June, the English teacher was reportedly found by police in a Best Western hotel room in Mississippi with the 15-year-old boy.

Police allege Ms Sexton followed the student to where he was spending his summer holidays with his mother.

Ms Sexton has been charged with three counts of second-degree rape, two counts of enticing a child, and one count of forcible sodomy, according to The Oklahoman.

Before her arrest, the only evidence against Ms Sexton was people’s suspicions.

“People seeing a teacher alone with a child may or may not be anything. It could just be innocent contact,” Harmon County Assistant District Attorney Eric Yarborough said.

“The child said nothing’s going on, she’s just a nice teacher.”

After the alleged incident in the hotel room, the student reportedly told investigators they had sex in a classroom, numerous times in her SUV, her house and the home of his father — a pastor.
