Backlash over baby duct-tape photo
Backlash over baby duct-tape photo

Pictures of a baby with duct-tape on her face and in a roasting pan have sparked outrage on social media.

The two-month-old baby from Columbus was photographed with duct-tape across her pacifier and next to potatoes in a roasting pan.

The baby’s grandmother took the photos and her mother posted them on Facebook late last week.

Franklin County Children Services are now interviewing the baby’s grandmother.

"It was on 10, 15 seconds. Long enough to take a picture," the grandmother said, according to NBC4i.

The baby’s mother said she would never harm her children and the photos were taken out of context.

The mother said she has two other children, and that all of them are in good health.

"My babies, they’re perfect. I don’t abuse them. I don’t even whoop my children. It was just a prop photo. It was supposed to be funny and social media, Facebook blew it out of proportion," she said.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will turn over their findings to the prosecutor’s office, and the women could be cited on misdemeanour charges.
