US man reunited with stolen memories
US man reunited with stolen memories

A US man has been reunited with a stolen camera containing photographs of his dead wife.

The camera was stolen from Dave Lacey’s home over a year ago.

The camera contained more the 300 photographs of his wife Erica, who died from cancer at age 30.

"I had written it off that it was gone and stolen forever," he told ABC7.

Santa Ana, California police found a pawn shop receipt for Mr Lacey’s camera while they were investigating a separate crime.

Police viewed the photographs on the camera and recognised the neighbourhood where one of the pictures was taken.

From here they tracked down Mr Lacey to return the stolen property.

Among the photographs on the camera are images from his wife’s funeral and pictures showing her celebrating her short life.

"That was pretty awesome," he said. "Having it back with the memories is fantastic."
