Julia Roberts' half-sister found dead of reported drug overdose

Nancy Motes, the half-sister of actress Julia Roberts, was reportedly found dead in her Los Angeles home from an apparent drug overdose.

“It is with deep sadness that the family of Nancy Mote... confirms that she was found dead in Los Angeles yesterday of an apparent drug overdose,” her family said in a statement released on Monday.

“There is no official report from the Coroner’s office yet. The family is both shocked and devastated.”

According to NY Daily News, Motes, 37, had struggled with her weight and claimed taunting from Julia Roberts forced her to undergo gastric bypass surgery.

“When I was in high school and she was an adult, she would just let me know that I was definitely overweight,” Motes told the NY Daily News last year.

“She would make it quite clear to me and in a not-so-nice a manner.”

Motes said that she was an "awkward" who was bullied at school and intimidated by her "very pretty and popular sister," according to RadarOnline.

Motes was also half-sister to actor Eric Roberts and American Horror Story actress, Emma Roberts.

More to come.
