Police in Britain have launched a full-scale search for a missing young woman amid reports she and a friend were stalked by a man days before her disappearance.
Missing student Megan Roberts was last seen with a group of people shortly after leaving a nightclub in York, the MailOnline reports.
CCTV vision shows Megan with a group of friends at one point but not with them a short time later.
Megan's friend Rockie Alanah Thorley wrote on Twitter about how the man approached them in a bar.
On January 16, a week before Megan vanished, Rockie had tweeted about the pair being approached by a 'creepy' man in bar, the MailOnline reported.
"Megan has gone to the toilet and this creepy guy keeps staring at me and winking," she wrote.
The pair left and went to a different pub but the man followed them.
Police said Megan was last seen with friends just after 2am.
The friends thought that she had left the group and gone home.
They became concerned when no-one could find Megan and she failed to turn up for a university lecture.
They contacted her mother, who lives separately from Megan, who went to police.
Officers are attempting to trace Megan's movements after she was last seen on CCTV.
Megan's mother wrote on Facebook: "Anyone with any info please get in touch. We’re worried sick.
"There is nothing suspicious to report of her disappearance at the moment.
"Megan's disappearance is extremely unlikely and thus adds to our concern.
"We are very concerned for her welfare and urge the public to come forward if they have any information on her whereabouts.'
The area where she was last seen is also close to the River Ouse, which has become fast-moving and swollen from recent heavy rains.
Police are yet to make any connection between Megan's disappearance and that of Claudia Lawrence was 35 when she vanished in March 2009. Police believe she was murdered.
In October 2007 the body of university student Robert Davies, 20, was found in the River Ouse in York.
