Family reads daughter's letter to herself after she dies

A young girl has left a touching letter to herself that she will never get to read.

Taylor Scout Smith wrote the letter to herself last year and planned on reading it again in 2023.

But she died on Sunday after suffering pneumonia, the Daily Mail reported.

Her parents found the note when they were cleaning up her room, and it has been a heartfelt reminder of the daughter they lost.

"Dear Taylor, How’s life? Life is pretty simple 10 years in your past," the letter said, according to CBS11.

"Congratulations on graduating high school, if you didn't, go back and keep trying, get that degree…Do you have your own place yet? If we're in college what are we majoring in? Right now I want to be a lawyer.

Taylor had left some great advice for her future self, advice she will sadly never get to take.

"Remember it's been 10 years since I wrote this. Stuff has happened good and bad, that's just how life works and you have to go with it."

Taylor's father, Tim, said it was his faith that was helping him get through his grief.

"If it's God's time, it's God's time, and he loved her more than we could ever love her. So much so that he said 'come on'," Tim said.
