Perth shivers through coldest night of the year
Perth has shivered through its coldest night of the year with the temperature dropping to around 2.4 degrees.
And while that meant rugging up for the metropolitan area, it wasn't the coldest part of the State.

Weather Bureau figures earlier this morning showed temperatures including -1.6 degrees in Wandering, -0.2 in Collie, 1 degree in Bunbury and 0.4 degrees at Jandakot.
This is a bit spooky. The last time it was colder than the 2.4 in #perth was 23rd June 2014, with 2.1. http://t.co/YrBhZLSqWk #perthweather

Today's maximum is expected to be just 16 at around 2pm and the cold nights are tipped to continue for the rest of the week.
The cold snap followed days of rain over the weekend which brought the June total to 100mm, well short of the June average of 175mm.
