Theron, Penn split

Mad Max star Charlize Theron and her Hollywood partner Sean Penn have reportedly called it quits.

The high-profile pair, who have both won Oscars, hooked up in December 2013 after decades of friendship.

Twelve months later it was reported they became engaged during a trip to Paris although it was never confirmed by the couple.

Since then they have been living together, raising Theron’s adopted son, Jackson.

But multiple sources have told US Weekly that Theron, 39, has called time on the relationship following their appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.

Penn, 54, was famously married to Madonna from 1985 to 1989, followed by House of Cards actress Robin Wright from 1996 to 2010.

Theron famously described him as “the love of my life”.
