Close call for biker Arnie

Hollywood hardman Arnold Schwarzenegger escaped unharmed after he came close to colliding with several vehicles while cycling a city bike in London.

The actor is currently in the British capital to promote his return to The Terminator franchise in Terminator Genisys, and he shunned private transport to use rental bicycles, referred to locally as ’Boris bikes’ after the scheme’s founder, Mayor Boris Johnson.

Schwarzenegger took to the busy roads during rush hour on Wednesday morning to visit tourist sites including Queen Elizabeth II’s official residence Buckingham Palace, and several fans wrote to him on Twitter.com to share their fears for his safety.

One wrote, “On the bus to work, and genuinely just nearly ran over Schwarzenegger riding a Boris bike across Piccadilly Circus“ and Schwarzenegger replied as his cyborg character, writing, “Don’t worry, I would have been fine - living tissue over a metal skeleton.”

Another Londoner wrote, “Apologies to Schwarzenegger for nearly bumping him off his boris bike this morning in my Range Rover. Didn’t expect Terminator in Regent St (Street)“, and the actor responded, “You’re forgiven”.

The star later added, “In case I do get hit, can you give me a list of bodyshops so I know where to direct the drivers to fix their cars?“
