Absinthe announces unique Perth venue

Outrageous circus production Absinthe Tour Le Monde has announced an unlikely new venue to erect its tent in Perth next month.

After wowing crowds in New York and Las Vegas, the adult-themed cocktail of burlesque and vaudeville will arrive in WA for a limited season from July 11 and has chosen the Backcourt at Perth Arena to hoist its 700-seat antique spiegeltent.

It is the first time the court will be used for an entertainment event — it is usually reserved for outside practice during the Hopman Cup.

Heralded as one of the most intimate stage shows in the world, Absinthe features a range of jaw-dropping acts and is hosted by raucous emcee The Gazillionaire, above.

They don’t allow the customers to come inside.” Last week a group of youngsters stole a car and crashed into a homeowner’s Nissan Juke and demolished his wall. CCTV footage shows the stolen Honda 4x4 careering along the road before losing control and ploughing into the parked car on Worton Road.
