Busy night for WA police dogs

Police dogs helped their two-legged colleagues make two arrests overnight.

Officers spotted a car with incorrect plates on Abernethy Road in Belmont at about 9.45pm.

When attempts to stop the vehicle failed, a pursuit through Belmont, Redclife and Ascot took place.

Police later spotted the vehicle abandoned on Ford Street in Ascot and sent police dog Storm to search for the owner.

Storm located a man on top of a water tank next to horse stables at a house on The Esplanade.

Police arrested and charged a 41-year-old man of no fixed address.
