Body found in South Perth unit

Homicide detectives are tonight speaking to a man about the discovery of a body in a South Perth apartment complex this afternoon.

Officers were called to the Windsor Towers on Parker Street about 12.30pm following reports of a death.

Police would not reveal the age or gender of the person found dead or how they died.

Several residents in the western tower of the four-wing apartment block said they heard loud banging and screams over the past few days and had called police about the disturbances.

Major crime detectives are investigating the death, which is being treated as a suspected homicide.

Police cordoned off the complex for several hours, preventing residents living in the 80 apartments from entering or leaving their units until they were finally allowed access at about 5pm.

A police spokeswoman said a man was assisting police with their inquiries.
