Three hurt in Northbridge violence

An early morning fight in Northbridge ended with three men treated in hospital and two men in custody.

At about 6:30am, several people were involved in an altercation at the corner of William and Francis streets, near the U and I cafe.

A police spokeswoman said three men - aged 34, 29 and 24 - received non-life threatening injuries and were receiving treatment at Royal Perth Hospital.

Two men are in custody and helping police with their inquiries.

Roads were closed in the entertainment district this morning as police investigated the violent fight.

A man on a skateboard was arrested after breaching a Protected Forensic Area (PFA) in which police were investigating the brawl.

A 27-year-old West Perth man has been charged with Unauthorised Person Enter a Protected Forensic Area and Obstructing Public Officers.

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on 23 March 2015.

Yesterday, a 68-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after allegedly being assaulted in Northbridge. Police allege a 25-year-old man was walking on James Street about 1.10am when he became involved in an argument with the man.

The older man was in the Intensive Care Unit at Royal Perth Hospital. Perth Detectives charged a 25-year-old Kalamunda man with unlawful grievous bodily harm in circumstances of aggravation.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrate’s Court next month.
