Machete robbery in beach car park

Police are hunting for a man who used a machete to rob a driver in a beach car park in Perth's southern suburbs.

The 42-year-old victim was sitting in his Holden ute at the far end of Saint Ives Cove in Warnbro at 11pm on Monday when he was approached by three men with their faces covered.

One of the men was armed with a machete and threatened the victim, demanding his wallet and phone.

While the driver was being threatened with the machete, a second offender stole various items from the car through the open passenger window.

The three offenders then ran into scrub land to the north of the car park.

The man armed with the machete is described as about 35-years-old, with a dark complexion, about 180cm tall, with a slim build and short brown hair.

The second and third offenders are described as about 25-years-old, with brown skin, about 175cms tall, with a slim build.
