Teen charged after police chase

A driver and his teenage passenger have been charged after allegedly leading police on a high speed chase through Perth's southern suburbs.

At about 6pm yesterday police noticed a red Hyundai i30 they believed to be stolen.

It is alleged the car failed to stop despite police attempts.

The car allegedly sped through multiple suburbs including Singleton, Lakelands, Meadow Springs and Silver Sands, at times driving on the wrong side of the road.

It was eventually abandoned in Mandurah, where officers apprehended three occupants.

A 28-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle, driving recklessly, failing to stop, reckless driving, having no authority to drive and possessing a prohibited drug.

He is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrate's Court today.

A 15-year-old boy from Beeliar has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle and stealing.
